Saddam Hussein has been convicted of crimes against humanity and sentenced to death by hanging.
As the judge began reading the death sentence Saddam Hussein shouted out "Allahu Akbar!" (God is Greatest) and "Long live Iraq! Long live the Iraqi people! Down with the traitors!"
Should the judgment stand Saddam will be executed within 30 days the chief prosecutor has said.
Shortly after the verdict was announced celebratory gunfire could be heard across Baghdad
Well, he kinda deserves it...

Is it really justice though.? Those who passed judgement have also committed crimes against humanity in the name of democracy. (No I dont support saddam either..just pointing out how absurd the world can be/is) as to people celebrating it.. sic its never good to celebrate the taking of a human life regardless of whose it is.

There's a part of me that wants to see him live, and rot in jail for the rest of his life. That for him would be a much worse punishment, he'd have years to think about and reflect on his actions (though I suspect he'd still be unrepentant), and to live his life in a small jail cell after being used to all those opulent palaces!
