The M600i is now available on some pretty good (free) Vodafone deals, and my p910 is looking long in the tooth.

I know the Voda branding is bad - I've seen the grey and red screenshots, and read about the missing shortcuts. BUT, a phone like this free on a reasonable contract still seems like a good deal, so I'm wondering how much worse it is than that.

For instance - does the Vodafone branding still allow you to use your tunes as ringtones? Can you hide the drab Vodafone menu with different themes (are there any others installed?) - in short, how different is a Vodafone branded M600 to the generic model?

You can use your own mp3's as ringtones so no problem there. What really annoys me is that no matter what background you select you can't see it because of the vodafone menu. Themes kind of become useless as anything other than colour schemes. Needs to be fixed!

I got my M600 today, and the only Vodafone branding is when the phone starts up. Otherwise there's absolutely nothing to suggest that it's branded.

...that and the different CDA which doesn't allow you to update your firmware using SEUS as Vodafone does not release firmwares using the SE update service. Apparently, in order to update the FW you have get in a store!!!

hi guys, i dont know how bad vodafone phones is in the UK but in IRL its realy bad. Actualy im working myself in one of the vodafone agents shop and most phones comes back to get fixed just because of software problems! 3 of 10 or even more of 10 has problems in the future even after normal usage...of course there is couple brands like SHARP and expensive ones which comes sim-free is not vodafone branded - we have no problems with them...i dont know so much about SE just because im working in there for 5 months now but on that time ive started to work there, all SE were gone out of markets(sold-out or other not titled reason)...wherever, what story about Vodafone UK???
