> Are there no good PDAs left?

Anything with Windows on it is crap IMO, so out goes the majority of handhelds.
I like Palm OS just fine, but their hardware is junk. Both of the Palm handhelds I've owned in the last 2 years failed shortly after their pathetic 90-day warranties expired. Not to mention, their Mac compatibility leaves an awful lot to be desired.
I'm not sure I want to jump to Nokia for one of their PDA-phones (e.g. 6682).
The

P990 and W950 lack the all-too-needed (for those of us in N. America) 850 MHZ band, so scratch them from the list.
Anything by Motorola is just... no.
I'm limping along on my iPod's very limited PDA-like capabilties right now, which is like using a wheelchair with a flat tire.
So, like the title says, are there no good PDAs left?

Having using pocket pc and now windows mobile since day 1, I try most things that companes put out there in competition but still find that I come back to windows mobile.
Currently my TyTN is my main device though I must say the M600 is a very close second, much closer probably than any device has been before
so, with respect to your opinion, and noting that the biggest phone company in the world has just signed various agreements with microsoft, exactly why is "Anything with Windows on it is crap"?

Yes, I would also like to ask the same question.. Why oh why?
I've been windows mobile fan for a while now and I just can't think of a change. I currently have 2 devices with windows mobile 5 on them and I love it!
May be your a mac fan and have something against windows?

I'm a Mac fan because of Windows: Unstable "welfare for the IT industry" OS, where every attempt at "easy to use" becomes a tech support nightmare.
Apple's advertising is spot-on in this regard.
@ masseur: Biggest never necessarily means best. Anyone on here that loves

products can attest to that.

I guess we differ there too. Though I will never buy Vodafone branded products, having been with vodafone for more than 10 years I have never had an issue with their network service or customer service, though I also now also use a t-moble web'n'walk sim as vodafone, nor any other phone company I have seen, have such a good deal for data
admitedly, I spend ALOT of money and perhaps get better service for that reason but thats all a bit off topic from your original assertions which are still not clearly defined and the argument of windows vs mac bears no relation to windows mobile vs palm vs symbian

Suffice it to say, then, that I won't touch a Windows (mobile or otherwise) -equipped device, and let's leave it at that.
That leaves Palm and Symbian. And as said above, Palm hardware is off my list.

not really much of a discussion then if you are not going to explain your reasons
moving along then... I always felt that Sony moving out of the Palm market was the final downfall for Palm. The Tungstens have gone some way to filling that gap if you are talking hardware, but they still don't have the vision that sony had
symbian, and I'm only talking M600/P990 as I don't use Nokia/symbian, has potential but I have always felt it is basic in these packaged offerings so far compared to WM devices
Before WM5 I have used Psion II/3 and 5 and Palm III and V but their time has definitly gone IMHO
personally, I'm wondering what the recently talked about windows mobile 6 will really have to offer when its finally released in the first half of next year!
