sorry but i've seen way too many people lose money and items and ebay doing sod all about it.
The only ones that are benefiting from ebay at the moment are, guess who...ebay!

Agree some of the way. Ebay have problems but lots of buyers think they can get something for nothing and all the signs are there but greed takes over. They read the title, not the listing as some devious scammers put the "you are only bidding for a picture" halfway down the blurb. I have no sympathy for a lot of them and then ebay don't help by sending automated responses to their pleas for help.
The best advice for buyers and sellers is to go to the Community forum and ask the question. A reply is instant and lots of good advice is normally given.
Members police the site, ebay don't and can't. Scammers, when NARU'd will be back within ten minutes with another username. The private feedback is a step in the right direction.

what about those dirty items people want kept from their familties etc? Surly certain x rated items should be hidden (not that i buy any but this could hurt some familys)

They normally set up another account to buy things they don't want others to see. All you need is another email address and a fresh username.
