Hi everybody! I'm new in this forum...

First of all I think that this site is wonderful... I've never seen a site like this in the net...

My question is:

I have Sony Ericsson T68i and I would like to know which is better between RS232 Cable and infrared port...

I have got none of them, so I'd like to know also prices... (better if in €).

Thanks everybody.

welcome to esato - first where are u???? RS232 DRS-10 is 17.86 - or DRS-11 is £34.99 - connection is more guranteed with cable - but is bulky to carry around - IR ports are priced similar - see http://www.l8shop.co.uk/mall/CoralPhones/authors/author-134760-1.stm for starters - use www.google & search - see wht u find

I've got a MA-620 IR Adapter - does the job perfectly. It works with loads of different phones, unlike a cable.

It costs €50.69 from here.

IRDA seems to make the trick... moreover, when you will update a phone or get another brand or an additional phone, irda will always work (given your phone has irda connector)... so i would definately go for the irda.. just because of the usability... and ease of connection...

Thanks everybody.

I think i'll buy the cable because I don't want to spend too much.
if a Infrared Port costs about 50 €, it's too much. Don't you know of any infrared port at a lower price?

About the cable, are you sure it costs 17 €? Because in my town I asked at some shops and they answered me 90 €!!!

However I know that a simple cable can't cost so much... so I'll check at the site that orangeman gave me.

Thanks again!

Well, the RS232 DRS-10 cable, at the site that orangeman posted, is 13.99£ (£ means pound, I think)... Is quite much!

Do you know any site where I can buy this cable at a lower price?

P.S.: In the site it says that the RS232 DRS-10 cable "does not work with Original Ericsson software"... What does it mean? Could I use the software downloaded from the sonyericsson site? If not, why do they sell such a cable that don't work wth their software?

Thanks again and sorry for my stupid questions...

there are 3 cables there I think - 2 are official cables - the cheaper one I think doesn't support data calls - It's something like that - 13.99 for the non cable is VERY CHEAP - but it may not work with Mypictures/mp3 software etc - don't think u'll find an IR port even second hand for £13 quid

13,99 £ (pound) are about 20 €! I think that this price for a CABLE is too much.

However could I transfer logos, screensavers and themes to my t68i with the "cheaper" cable (I mean the RS 232 DRS-10)?

Thanks for your help
