Yep, got it too. Its a bug somewhere and very very annoying.

The recent update did nothing to sort this out.

if anyone knows what to do, please let us know!

Have had my P990 for almost 3 months, popping noise from the very beginning and still now with the "latest" firmware R3B01. Happens everytime the speaker was active with about 1-2 sec delay. Turned off keyboard clicks - now it's less annoying...

Well i don't think there is anything we can do to stop this because i believe its a quirky issue with the spearker hardware itself. Unfortuantely, i noticed straight out of the box and its just one of those things i had to add to the black list

Dont Want to sound daft, but when you say popping noise, your not referring the the click everytime you touch the screen are you?

@ nanu...

hehehe. it's not the clicking sound. it's a very faint noise. more like an airy sound (popping). hope that would explain it?

one thing i did notice is that it disappears when you silent the touchscreen and keyboard option. i'm just baffed? guess it could be the speakerphone? just don't know what it is.

cheers

It's normal. You've selected a tapping (popping) sound in your preferences. Go ahead and turn it off. gets annoying after a while, yeah.
