I have a router set up at home to surf the net etc on my Orange P990. I set the Wifi to on in the connections and then on trying to go on the net, I get asked if I want to connect to Orange GPRS which is also set up on there by default.
I only want to connect by Wifi as the GPRS is costing me money in data charges. How can I set up Wifi to be the default connection method? I don't want to delete the Orange GPRS connections. I have already accrued charges because of this wretched thing.
Thanks
Doug

as I recall (sold my P990 now) its as simple as going to control panel, connections mgr, more, settings, internet accounts, groups, (click your group) and ensuring that you wlan connection is priority 1

Actually, you;re almost there and as you say, its very subtly tucked away.

You want to make the group that the wifi connection is in a "preffered" connection from the manager.

So, go into: -

Control Panel -> Connections -> Internet Accounts -> select the Groups tab -> Hit the Internet Accounts softmenu -> select "Preffered Group"

Then, go into: -

Internet Accounts Softmenu -> Options -> de-select "Show Connection Dialog"

This will make the default network the wifi connection and also not ask you to connect everytime you want to go on the 'net.

Regards
