Having finally given up on O2 ever getting their act together and actually releasing the P990i I nervously took the jump to CPW and got a pretty reasonable deal. However I was always a bit nervous about it because of my Wife's previously poor Customer Service experience, looks like I was right.

I brought the phone on the 3rd November and was told that my number would be ported across on the 13th . . . a little longer than I would have liked but at least I'd been given a date. Late last week I received a txt telling me to reboot my phone after 6PM on the 13th in order to confirm the port. I did that and the phone carried one working so I assumed that all was OK.

This morning I called up their Customer Services department (now on an 0870 national rate number) in order to register my new SIM card so that I could use the 3G features (my current SIM is very old and apparently incapable). Having confused their automated system by typing in my correct phone number I ended up being put on hold by an actual human and then eventually told that although the number had been ported I didn't actually have a billing account set-up yet (so who the hell is billing me for my calls right now??)

I now have to wait and call back either tonight after 6PM or tomorrow sometime to find out if they have bothered to set-up my account yet so that I can register the new card (and of course pay for the cost of them telling me they haven't??)

I'm really hoping that this is just a minor glitch and not the start of me really regretting the move over to CPW . . .
