Hi all,

I have my P990i for about a week now. It's got the latest firmware and have had no problems with it (particularly) until today.

Now, whenever I turn the phone on, it boots up ok and I get into the system but then, when I try and load anything (i.e. contacts, messaging, menu, main menu - anything basically) it just fails to load. I sometimes get a white strip across the top of the screen where the app is trying to load but then nothing happens....
(This happens with the flip open and closed btw)

So I'm just wandering if there's a way to reset the phone to defaults other than from the main menu which I can't get into to! Is there a button combination I can press on startup or something?

Thanks for anyone's help,

Jon.

First thing is always try a "memorystick out" restart, but remove the battery for a short while before restartiing, it's very likely something is on the memorystick it doesnt like, a corrupt app for EG.

If that fails then u can try the Master Reset

Tools-->Control Panel-->Other--> Master reset

Thanks for the quick replies.

I have tried taking the memory stick out completely and restarting the phone but it still doesn't work.

adhussain: As stated in my original post (and the topic of the post) I can't actually get into the menus to do this!!

@jonathan488,

I guess speed reading isn't working out for me. How about reflashing your phone using SEUS, it looks like the only option. Remember to sync your data before, cause the flashing will erase it all.

Don't worry about it!

I have just received my phone's unlocking code and have managed to unlock it!

I've now put my O2 SIM in and the phone is mysteriously working again...?

Maybe a SIM problem? I might re-flash anyway...

Thanks again for everyone's help and suggestions.

Happy P990i'ing!

I got it from Orange. They (the service provider) have to (by law I presume) give you the code to unlock your phone.

Hope this helps!
