My wife needs a new phone and is interested in one of these. They are pricey without a contract, though. Anyone here have first-hand experience with one? Please post it up. Thanks.

I have an 8700g and have had various other BBs including the SureType hadsets....
BBs are either love or hated....i dont think there is an inbetween....but the Pearl maybe the handset to change that...
If your wife wants a BB, and a phone that competes on the market relatively well for technology then the Pearl is an option. The SureType keyboard is strange initially but its an awesome device. I personally am not fussed about the camera and mp3 functions, and will wait for the 8800 Pearl due out.
I am not sure how many BB users are on here....
p.s. Dont forget you would need the Blackberry Data Plan to make this work to its full potential
