Alcatel has launched the OT-E801 music phone with SD card slot, available on pre-pay for under £40.

The rubberised handset is available in black and white and features dedicated music control keys and SD card slot. A Sandisk 128MB card is offered with the handset (around 50 music tracks), but you can boost storage to 2GB (nearer 800 tracks). Music transfer is drag 'n' drop via USB.

The handset offers around 9 hours talktime and 270 hours in standby. There's around 6 hours music time with one charge. No video or camera, but there are 2 games included. The OT-E801 is available now on the high street, price starting at £39.99.

Crap, I would say. Alcaltel have made only one phone as it needs to be. They've only made good the OT S853, except the missing flash and the bluetooth file transfer support.

It is the best phone Alcatel made ever (although it is not very new model). It has good music features like the 2.1 stereo surround speakers put on the phone's mainboard (It would be great for SE to make a phone with more than 2 speakers on it), EDGE support, Infrared port, bluetooth (but only for use with bluetooth headset, missing the file transfer support) and etc... but it has a lot of bugs and misstakes in it's software. My friend has this phone for about 4 months and he experienced A LOT of problems with the phone. MiniSD card support only up to 1GB and VEEEERY SLOW when reading files from the card (taking up to 10 seconds to power on the media player, and about 5 min to power the phone on when the memory card is inserted). It has 1.3 Megapixel camera, but the photos aren't that good as the 1.3 Mpix SE phones. So, in my opinion it cannot be compared to any newer SE phones and so the E801 too.

Thanks
