Sorry, I don't mean to pry into your personal lives, but I'm really quite curious.....

Why did you guys buy your P990? What do you use it for?

The phone isn't sleek and sexy. It's got fairly dire problems with it. There are other machines that are.....comparable.....for a similar price.

Me:
I run a small company and have very poor memory. I would literally die if I didn't have a good calendar on my phone. I also travel quite a bit and am quite a music addict. My business requires me to be able to take pictures of samples / product. I previously had a phone, a PDA, a CD-walkman, a dig.cam. In other words, carrying around 4 bits of kit in my jacket / trousers at all times, I have to remember to pack ALL my chargers, and replacing each one would require probably approximately $200 each.
This saves me time and money and strength.

quite intersting, anyway here's my story, i am quite a fan on p-series, despite its buggs, i still could stand it. i browse the net most of the time, so its qwerty keyboard is really helpful. i listened to songs and radio, quite a collections of music i have. and it has a decent camera which is very good for candid! there are many other things tht i use occasionally which not worth a mention here.

I much agree with jakontil.

I expected the bugs for a while and if I didnt want a buggy device I would have waited 6+months. But I know the fixes will help eventually. PocketPC is not and certainly was not bugfree to begin with.

I find the touchscreen very good for browsing, the symbian opp system more user freindly than PPC, the size of it very good with flip removed. the querty keyboard is a blessing for the Pseries. The calendar is good, the camera is even handy. Oh and its a phone/pda.

Not a PDA trying to be a phone (XDA), its not a blackbery(overrated).

One of thouse niches that if you like, you endup loving. Not a onesize fits all Microsoft aproach - look at this for more of an idea of what I mean: http://www.thelongtail.com/

I have a P910i at the moment (starting new job on Monday with a new P990i - woo-hoo!) and I use it most to back up my bad memory!

I used to have a PDA but found it very buggy and difficult to use.

Will be using same with P990, but also looking forward to wi-fi and getting sat-nav installed so that diary, music, internet and sat-nav is all in one place (as well as being able to get work emails).

Wonderful!!

I have a p990i and i had a w800i before that .
i bought this phone for
Tochscreen craze
Qwerty keyboard for mesging ,email, internet usage
Camera almost equivalent to the w800 one
Sound quite gud
Robust sexy looks ...looks amzing while in hand
All the new technologies like umts ,3g,business card scanner, wifi etc etc ..
I am a biker so while on the move i can recieve and make calls while most of the other Pda's like 02,7710 dont have keypads in the phone ,only touchscreen so p990 is the best option!
Its a Pda phone...
Its the best smartphone
Its the best phone yet IMO...

So ,I dont think we need any more reasons to buy this phone
its the sexiest phone i have bought till date!

Here is why i would recommend the p990i:

1) Excellent MP3 for those who travel.

2) Excellent camera quality capture and record.

3) Excellent web browser (web'n'walk works wonders on the p990i)

4) Quick Office convenience for making word/excel notes on the move and then easily transferring them to a pc or laptop at work/home via E-mail.

5) Excellent e-mail service just with the click of three buttons i can access my personal and worl mail.

6) Very useful Calender which helps organise conveniently.

If I could describe this phone in two words it would be 'uber phone' the touch screen + QWERTY seperates itself as the man from the market neiche of women.

Im typing this from my sofa never been so relaxed with any other phone.
