> Is it safe to unlock my T68i

Hi , i bought my t68i from a guy in the adtrader, and the phone is locked to orange, but only after purchasing i realised it was a phone that had been on a pay monthly plan, do you think i can unlock it, or will they take the phone off me because it was meant for someone elses contract? I would be greatful for some advise on this matter.

The problem is i am worried they dont do it properly, and they mess up the phone, which is common when not done professionally

know guys? there are two ways on how to unlock the ericsson/se phone, it's either by attaching a cable to it attached to computer or by entering the nck code of the said phone. the most safe if by entering the 8 digits nck. it's just like entering your phonelock code or the pin code. and as long as you know the said code, you have the luxury of locking and unlocking you phone by yourself.
problem is where to get the nck?

http://www.unlocking.co.uk/ does Remote unlocking for a small fee, about £5 GBP for one unlock. You do need a data-cable to attach it to your PC first though.
I'm not sure if this service shows up on their website or not but apparently you can e-mail them.
Also, I bought three T68i phones from people on eBay, two were fully unlocked and the final one was an Orange branded one (with the orange square at the bottom of the fascia) but it was locked to certain networks, even though the Simlock menu suggests that all 4 types of lock have the number 5 next to the padlock.
This would usually indicate that it is fully unlocked since that's what I get with the other two phones

I couldn't get an unlocked T68i for a long time because the guy who unlocks my phones couldn't get onto the server that did it.

where abouts do you live, mine was on orange and i got mine unlocked in a shop while i waited, it was only a week old. It cost me £25 though but i would rather pay that than send a brand new phone off to anyone. No problems with it either after

Hmmm. I know we aren't supposed to discuss unlocking phones on this forum but I have a question:
I am on contract with Orange and have Orange care which means that they replace lost phones for free.
What is to stop me 'losing' my phone and then unlocking it and selling it? I would get another one off Orange for free.
Can Orange do anything about it? Do they list the phone as stolen if it is lost? If so then how can they do anything about it if it is unlocked?
In theory I could get a new one every week! Not that I would ever do such a thing of course.
