If you choose 3G+GSM instead of GSM only, you can't get the GSM data modem to work for email thru the data account. It just won't work. I had to revert to GSM Only in order for the phone modem to connect to my network provider...

Incorrect. I have mine set to either setting and they both work. The problem is with your provider.
