Well as much as I really like my Sony Ericsson w810i when I was actually shopping for a phone all I really wanted was a PHONE! Now my friend is in need of a phone and is looking for the same thing (just a good PHONE) and I recently discovered the JET by O2. Unfortunately, we both live in the USA and this phone only seems to be sold in the UK (lucky dogs).
Does anyone know what the protocol is for O2 regarding selling a phone to be used overseas? Specifically, will they sell it UNLOCKED (SIM free) and is it branded such that would make it difficult to be used on Cingular here?

Also, does anyone have any experience with this phone? The layout seems very nice (good keypad) and the battery life is unbelievable!

Well if its anything like the ICE phone which I have used then itll be very O2 looking as is expected really as it was designed and built for O2. I dont know about whether you can use another network SIM in it, O2 traditionally havent locked their phones but as this is their own then they may have.

I very much doubt they'd sell you one direct, your best bet is pick one up on ebay or get someone over here to get one for you.

I dont know what its like to use but ive used the ICE which is the other O2 phone and that is quite good. nice looking UI and simple to use. They gave them away free to a lot of people at work but I missed the chance to get one

We do actually have a friend who lives in Leominster, Herefordshire who could get it for us and ship it over but I wanted to make certain it was going to work and be a decent phone. It certainly looks respectable though.
