Hi.
I've just ordered a K800 from Orange, but I've noticed that the latest firmware hasn't been approved by Orange (and I really want to fix the wma files bug when I get the phone, otherwise I will have to convert all my music to mp3 before putting it on the phone).
So I was looking at the Wotan server website. If I use the Wotan update, what will I lose from my phone? Will I still be able to use Orange GPRS pages and will it affect my contract or anything? I mostly use the BBC mobile site for my phone browsing, but there are a few cool things on Orange that I would like to continue using.
I'm a bit of a newbie, so any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks guys!

It wont affect anything except you warrenty. Of course you'll need to re-download the settings ect and it will take away all the horrible Orange branding.

Redownload the settings?
Sorry, what do you mean? I'm really new to this.

Your internet settings. When using wotan the settings will be lost, so you'll either have to input them again manually or I imagine you can download them from the Orange website.

@joebloggsy
If you just go to the Sony Ericsson site and go to Support > Phone Setup and select your phone you can get the settings sent over to you via SMS for free. Much easier!

Thanks guys, that's great advice.
Just one more question...
If I use the Wotan firmware, will it affect my Orange Care? (Orange Care is a £5 per month insurance that I pay and if my phone gets broken or I break it I get one in the post the next day for free and they take away the old one).
Thanks again guys.

I have used th Wotan update. It has worked great, except that I can't make outgoing calls!
I can send and receive texts and receive incoming calls, but I cannot phone out. This is a big problem and I am really worried about it.
I have tried the SIM card in my old phone and I can call out with that one so I don't know why I can't on my new phone.
Can anyone help?

Hmm, it seems to have resolved itself. I turned the phone on this morning and it worked. Last night it worked if I turned off the 3G network and stayed on 2G, but this morning I went back on the 3G and I can call out again. Happy now.
