Ok I'm upgrading my phone and I've been offered both the k610i and the k750i and I don't know which one to go for? What I'm looking for is a good camera and as large a memory as possible. Any advice welcome

@el - Welcome to Esato ! Both are good fones . . . but I guess, the K750i captures a BIT of good - images (both 2 MP). If you are not much into video calls - 3G, then get the K750. Both have external memory card slots . . . Good Luck !

Cheers Jojo

I've noticed that the 610 is the newer of the two...isn't the 750 like 18 months old or so? Yet it's still better?

i'd choose the k750i but thats just my opinion. my wife used to own that phone and i thought it was great. The overall features and the camera especially.
she would still have it now if it wasn't for some scammer on ebay reporting it stolen.

@el - Yup, the K610 is much newer . . . but the K750 has garnered some GOOD reputation as a

fone to choose on . . . well actually, to date . . . I've manage to get on 3 or 4 - K750s (since 2004), because that's really a good one and very reliable . . . I'm not sure if the K610i already uses the M2-card (small one)

But then again, the K750 is much better for me. If you are into 3G, the K618i is much NEWER thatn the K610i - I've manage to get hold on to one for 2 weeks, and it's OK!

Nah 3G calling ain't too much of a priority. Could deffo live without it. So in terms of camera and memory, 750 is the one I should go for?

@el - Camera . . . yes, K750 ! But if you have some money to spare . . . the K800 is a BIT better mate. The price has lowered now from it's initial release early this year . . .

If its a good camera you're looking for then the K750i really delivers, it's excellent. The autofocus is accurate, as is the white balance. Also has variable auto asa 'film' speed, and low image noise levels, even in dim light.
Take a look at Flikr for plenty of examples.
And I'm using a 2Gb Memory Stick in my 750i, so plenty of memory. With photo settings on highest/largest quality, it'll hold over 300 images. The only downside is that the shutter noise can't be turned off, except by using silent profile.
The K610 doesn't have autofocus, but I suspect it may be the same camera/sensor otherwise. Depth of field looks after sharpness for most shots. Also shame it doesn't have a radio, which I find useful.
I asked for a K610 as my upgrade, but sent it back to o2 because it was red. Yuk! Now not sure what to get as the K800i is v.nice but costs . .

If your choice is only these two phones, definitely get the K750i:
-- K750i camera is better. With macro and autofocus, and the sensor gives much cleaner and sharper pictures.
-- Expandable memory: Prices of ProDuo cards (for K750i) have really gone down. "M2" cards (for K610i) are still almost twice the price of ProDuo, for the same memory size. You can get yourself a 2gb or 1gb ProDuo these days without spending a fortune.

@el_kap
if you do not need 3G data speed and no video calling - then the K750 is the better choice. Ok, the K610 is slightly smaller and has less weight. If that is important for you then you might consider the K610 or the K618.
Otherwise go for the K750.
I chose the K610 because I need 3G data a lot and wanted to have the smallest and lightest phone possible. The camera isn't that important for me.
