Greetings all!
Can anyone please tell me how i can sync my 990 with outlook? what are the settings etc? i tried the search but cud not find anything....

You use the PC Suite SE synchronize program to synch with outlook. Or you can do it over bluetooth if your PC supports it.

I was successfully synchronising with Outlook using USB and Bluetooth.
That is to say the success was repeatable until I used the P990i's Connections Manager to select USB for use with Sony Disc2Phone. I have not found a way to tell the phone to "get back to normal"!
Whenever I dock my phone the USB connection logo appears on the bottom of my P990i screen and clicking it displays this message:
"Your Memory Stick is being used by a connected device and cannot be used by applications on the phone".
It also means that the phone is not recognised by PC Suite and I can not synchronise with Outlook or backup and restore.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software on my PC (and have also tried it with a second computer and the problem is the same). So I am reasonably confident that the issue needs to be resolved at the phone end of the connection.
Apart from resetting the phone does anyone have any suggestions as how to overcome the problem of the memory stick being recognised by the computer but not the rest of the phone" I am tearing my hair out in frustration and would be very grateful if you could suggest a solution, tweak or even a practical tip.

There are two types of USB Connection on P990 :
1. Phone mode
2. File Transfer
On Phone mode, you can synchronize with Outlook, Explore both Phone Memory and Memory Stick, Install software, etc.
On File Transfter mode, your Memory Stick read by computer as a "flash disk" so you can easily explore it in Explorer, or using Disc2Phone.
Go to Control Panel --> Connections --> USB --> USB functionality --> choose Phone mode if you want to synchronize you P990 with Outlook.
Run PC Suite and the synchronize menu will be in green.

I've had exactly the same problem not being able to sync my SE P990i with Outlook but last night solved the problem! Once you've installed the software (I'd download the latest version from SE website), restart you computer and then do a search for 'mrouter' or just type in 'router' in the search and look for the 'mrouter' install file. Double-click this to install the software (not sure why it doesn't do it automatically but still!). This is the bit of software, I believe, that makes the USB, bluetooth etc.. functions work! Restart your computer and now run the SE software but DON'T plug in your phone to the computer until instructed to do so - the PC should now find the phone without any trouble. Good luck 'chaps'!
