I notice a faint and continous stactic/crackling noise when I listen to music or watch videos on my M600i while using (different) headphones. The noise is volume independent and is therefore most noticable during low volume passages ans fade-ins/-outs.
It's like listening to a very old and worn down record in the background, except the static is very uniform. In between songs or video's the static disappears, only to reappear when the next track starts.

Is this static from the processor leaking through? Am I the only one experienceing this phenomenon? I haven't found anthing about this specific issue here, nor on other forums.

Is my M600i faulty and should I get it repaired?

@ siandy,
Thank you, but I've tried these things already. I also use original accessories and the latest firmware.
So it appears my handset is faulty then...bummer!

I've used the original handfree and I'm using the HPM-82 now. Same problem unfortunately.

This sounds's strange as all accessories are original. As crazy as this may sound i have just reloaded the newest firmware, master reset and formatted my M2 card. It is running better than previously. I am listening to the Gorillaz whilst useinbg the built in Opera really don't like the mini version at all. But so far so good. Istill want it quicker though.

Ive had the same problem with 4 different orange handsets. I now use headohines with volume control and turn these down enough to filter out the crackle... posted this topic about it...

Thanks Cooljazz. So you say this is normal, since you've tried 4 different P990's with the same result?
I'm surprised there are only 3-4 other posters confirming the exitstence of this issue across the different forums.
Are we the only ones listening to music on low volume settings on our handsets? Or are we just unlucky with our hardware?

@DocTorpor
I think we are talking about the M600 here.
