i has my w800i for sale on ebay and it ended today. final price was 114 pounds. i then get an email from winning bidder(who only joined ebay today and had zero feedback) asking me if i can send phone to nigeria for his 70 year old mother who is in hospital and he gave me the address. he also said he had paid.
i knew he was talking rubbish so left a negative feedback and as soon as i left the negative feedback i got an email from paypal or so i thought was from paypal telling me i had been paid 154 pounds into my account. i never clicked on any links in the email insteadi logged into my paypal to find i wasn't paid a single penny by him.
turns out he has made up an almost identical email that paypal sent out and tried to trick me into logging into my paypal with the link provided inthe email.
so anyway i then had a second chance offer to give. the next guy down had a negative feedback for bidding and not paying for a w800i phone so i never gave him a second chance. i then sat and gave 3 others a second chance offer for them to tell me they no longer want it and 1 person never replied.
so its up on ebay for 80 quid buy it now and i'm hoping a genuine bidder will win it and pay for it this time.
does this happen often on ebay and has anybody else had a identical experience? pain in the a*** and such a waste of time and hassle. i need to wait 10 days i think to report this guy to ebay to get my fees paid back to me.
little rant over

Think i'm in the process of being scammed, sold a phone at the end of Jul, took a fortnight to get payment via paypal, which I got. Last week - got an email from Paypal saying they were investigating a chargeback allegation - that bloody buyer is alleging their credit card was used fraudulently! Like hell!
And I shipped to an unconfirmed paypal address, it looks like i may be liable as i'm not covered under the paypal seller protection programme, so this scammer will probably get my £80! Not happy!

No offence to anyone but when Nigeria is mentioned on Ebay, RUN!
I've just started saying that people with no or negative feedback have to email me and await a reply before they can bid or buy, cancelled if they do. Have had multiple items in the past won by fake Ebayers with no feedback, then not responding or paying for the item. Making me wait a week so that I can safely relist the item and hopefully get justice.

Yeah paypal is evil! If i am selling anything of value ie more than £50 say i will not offer paypal as an option. It is too risky and easy for people to take advantage say a couple of months down the line and get your money. If you offer cheque, cash sent recorded post, postal order and bank transfer then that is plenty of options and limits the risk.

That is the price you pay though. I would rather loose a little cash than to get stung months done the line like sammyboy. I don't see why there is such a problem without using paypal, bank transfer is so easy to do now and cash over the counter is instant.

I think paypal's ok if you recieve payment from paypal accounts with confirmed addresses registered, then there shouldn't be a problem. i'm not starting to specify payment from accounts with confirmed addresses only for expensive items or I'd refund the payment.
I'm going to be a lot more careful now!

An issue about having NEGATIVE feedbacks . . . .
I just had MINE last week, as a MORON buyer from a local auction site gave me (3) ones . . . simultaneous at that

I remember having a would-be-transaction with this guy . . . HE travelled some long miles during our scheduled MEET and when he was about some distance from me, he sent me an SMS and said to just forget about or MEET, so I was really pis*sed and replied back saying: \" That's OK, as I've already sold the fone days ago . . . bwehehehe . . .\" just to get even with him, well actually I was really on STAND-BY about to meet him at that time .. . the fone was SOLD days later. Then the MORON looked for my ITEMS on SALE in that auction (3 at that time) about some weeks ago after having talked to him about 2 months ago, and PUT a NEGATIVE remarks on my ITEMS being put on SALE lately . . . of course, I replied back (as we are allowed to) but no right-justice was made . . .so, my feedback record now stands at (-1), as I've only sold 2 items so far (others do NOT bother giving their feedbacks back

), actually I've already SOLD around 12 items on the said site.
Having regarded and having as/a NEGATIVE Feedback-Seller now . . . I guess you MUST still OPT to look at thse potentila-buyer's/seller's RECORDs still . . . analyze those NEGATIVE feedbacks as well . . . as he might turn out to be a GENUINE guy after all
Happy Bidding !
