Three will be launching the X-Series on 1st December. This is a service that Three claim will unleash the true power of broadband internet over your mobile phone.

Handset choice intially is quite limited,Nokia N73 and W950i,...would have been great if the P990i was available as that would have been ideal.

Im seriously considering getting this package as the tarif and functions suit my needs pefectly. But the only thing that is putting me off is the lack of camera in the W950i,otherwise i love the handset.

Now the dilemma is do i sacrifice the camera for the functionality and flexibility this tariff has to offer,or do i just get this anyway and also carry my K800 with me?

Hi axxxr
Some details of the tariff would help as currently i don't think any Data deal comes close to Web N Walk.

The Tariffs aren't clarifed yet,but according to 3 staff it will be £10 on top of the current tariffs.

I too am considering the W950 at the moment as I currently use the walkman function everyday on my w800. The camera on the other hand, just once in a while.

Yes I have to say that for me that a camera has been an important function but I am edging away towards the functionality of a symbian mobile with a 4 gig hard drive and walkman player, the W950 offers.

From what you are saying mate the 3 x series sounds like the way to go for you. I'm certainly going to have a look into it now.

The K800 with it's zenon flash for evenings out or for times you know you are going to perhaps need a camera but don't want to carry an additonal digicam. Your sorted!

3's X-Series will offer free mobile Skype calls for £5 a month.

3's internet bundle has been priced at £5 and £10 respectively, depending on whether users opt to add streaming TV to the Skype and instant messaging bundle.

3 will offer two packages – which are designed to extend the benfits of home broadband to your mobile – the X-Series Silver at £5 per month and X-Series Gold at £10 per month.

The X-Series Silver package offers customers unlimited Skype calls with Skype PC users anywhere in the world, and to other Skype 3 mobile customer; plus X-Series Silver offers customers unlimited instant messages.

The X-Series Gold package will give unlimited access to home TV via a Slingbox and home PC files with Orb. For £10 a month customers will be able to watch home TV through Slingbox, or access their PC files on the move. The X-Series Gold package will also include the full range of internet communications and information services available with X-Series Silver.

'Priced like fixed line broadband, customers will be charged flat access fees for X-Series mobile broadband services,' said 3 CEO Bob Fuller. 'This means it is free at the time of use, for a flat fee. The X-Series from 3 is about giving the people the internet as they want it, on their mobile and removing the barriers to usage that per-megabyte data charges have imposed on people. We're proud and excited to be the first 3 Group market to offer X-Series and the first to bring the best of the internet to customers on the move.'

Both deals require a minimum six-month commitment. A further deal, which includes a subsidised Slingbox at £99 (to channel home TV over the internet to a 3 handset) requires a 12 month contract.

So if you wanted to use Esato you'd have to search for it through Yahoo Go! search app and then use it?

Anyway, the fair use policy:

*Unlimited data is 1GB per month. Also, your data usage doesn’t include using your mobile as a modem.
* Windows Live Messenger won’t count towards your monthly data fair use limit but has its own limit of 10,000 messages per month.
* Skype on 3 is 5,000 minutes per month. If you go over this you’ll need to wait until the start of the next bill month for the service to resume, however Skype calls can still be received.
* Orb and Slingbox have a total combined limit of 80 hours a month.

Hi all,
I actually hate 3 as they have nicked YahooGo for themselves so although i can still access everything through the newly launched YahooWAP i can no longer sync my phones calendar and contacts or upload photos directly from this app. Now remembering 3's owners where the original owners of Orange and they seem to be turning things round @3 maybe it's time to check out their Network. Seeing the phones that are available on this service plus the fact you can't use them as a modem you would have to really be pushing it to breach their fair use point IMO. I for now think my Web N Walk @£7.50pm and Flext 20 £20pm is a pretty hard deal to beat.

The webnwalk deal is still the best, especially with £5 off flext tariffs at the moment. If YahooGo! is stored on your phone, have they still been able to stop you using it? Push Yahoo mail is a good feature.
