I have been away for about a year
Sold The SE P910 and purchase a Naff Moto V3i.
Don't ask you.

Thinking of purchasing a SE M600i
Looks good and a lot better than the SE P990.( too Big)

What the latest Firmware for the M600i?
Is it possible to remove the service provider branding?

Be honest with you I wouldn’t bother at the mo until they have sorted it out. As for latest firmware it depends on the branding, there is a few post on here about de-branding and as far as i know its not poss at the mo

M600i on latest firmware is rock solid. In fact basically has been rock solid for me on firmware as of August. The subsequent updates were tweaks but it was not crashing for me since that point.

As long as you dont need a camera, this is one of the finest devices out there. Well worth a buy.

However - dont get the branded one. Always get an unlocked generic phone. Just as a matter of principle. Otherwise at some point you will be stuck.

Should I just stick to getting a standard Phone.
I was thinking of the Nokia 8800 Sirocco.

no offence to nokevin - but everybody else seems to think their m600 are just fine! just check the tread that nokevin himself started...

I agree with Mobman and Osamede - nokevin's experience, as bad as it may be, is NOT representative of the rest of us. The phone is solid - there are a few kinks to iron out, but it's perfectly stable and everything works. I'm quite fond of mine already.

Yeah my M600 is very good (i think) since the new firmware it's been great, though not the fastest phone, only problem a have is the alarm keeps driving me mad, i set it for 7:30 for each working day and yeah it goes off ok but keeps repeating a few minutes later then again, this also happens when i've disabled the alarm but the bell icon still appears next to the clock in stanby... ?? I noted others have had the same problem!

Overall i think the phone is excellent, the size although not that much smaller than the P series it's the slimness/thickness which gives it the small image and feels so much smaller in the hand or pocket, a great quality screen with functions to suit most needs..

hi
i downloaded the latest fw of m600 with sony ericsson update service(sony ericsson.com) and downloaded about 35mb while updating. and now it works much better. the only problem i have is when i want to skip a video and i didn't pause it first. the sounds skips, but the image is frozen. i entered the task manager , closed media player aplication, returned to stand by and the video image is still there and a restart was needed. although, you can pause, skip and play
except this, i agree with " latest firmware is rock solid"
