After having used the excellent T68i for like an eternity I finally upgraded to the K608i...

Great phone but:

1) USB transfers are soooo fracking slow! WTF is this? any workarounds?

2) rubber flap on USB port looks like it'll break in a few days of use...

Oh BTW I use nero he-aac encoder I could fit an entire album on the measly 30MB memory...

hi... i'm also a k608i user.. just here to answr you questions.

1) the usb port is actually not a true usb. it's a serial port which uses your cord as an adapter, that's why the max speed is just 400-450kbps, unlike usb that has more than 100mbps(correct me if i'm wrong). from my observation, k608i is the last phone to have a serial port, because, k750i, w800i, and even j230i have the new connector w/c is already usb 2.0

well, it's better off than just having an infrared n bluetooth which has slower speed right?

2) don't worry about the rubber flap. it won't come off that easily (unless you intentionally rip it off). i had mine for 3 months already and it's still good as new.

also, try converting your music files to .m4a using itunes. i had mine encoded at 80 kbps and still has that "detailed" CD quality. don't worry bout the size, it's the same as an 80kbps mp3 file. i managed to store about 11 songs and one is a 3.0mb mp3 file that i dont want to delete lol
