> Strange w810i behavior, what's up?
Bookmark topic
My w810i has been making a strange sound periodically for reasons unknown to me. I finally figured out what the sound is at least, but I don't know why it is making it at these times.
Since I cannot find the sound file anywhere on the phone, I will describe to you when I normally hear it...
When I connect my phone to my Powerbook via Bluetooth and transfer files (pictures, themes, mp3's whatever), as each file completes its download to the phone a simple descending scale chime sounds (4x1/16th notes in descending pitch) to signal the transfer is complete.
On several occasions now, I have noticed that my phone makes this sound while it is just sitting there untouched, and Bluetooth isn't even turned on! Then the phone reacts VERY sluggishly and when I restart it (or try to at least), it proceeds with the flashing white screen for a few minutes and shuts off.
What in the world could cause this?
p.s.
I am on the Cingular network but I bought this phone from an independent retailer UN-branded and UN-locked. My current firmware is R4DB005 (america_1) and the OTA update service claims this is the newest version.

So... no guesses? Whatever it is really screwed my phone up! My internet is screwed up as well and the shortcut to the homepage is gone (when you press "up" on the directional ring). This really blows!

I bet ur phone's been infected with a virus...it probably got there thru bluetooth transfers....try visiting a service center, maybe they can fix it for you...

The only time I have Bluetooth turned on is when I am at home connected to my Mac. When I have my headset connected via Bluetooth it won't let anything else connect so I don't know how I could get a Virus.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? I mean ALL of my apps AND games are just GONE!
How do I get them back? (since some were installed by default)
I also ran SEUS and updated the Firmware but this didn't help. I also noticed that now the same sound it used to make when the file transfers were done (as explained in the first post) no longer plays.

@rhett121
Were all the games and apps paid for ? or where some from free sites as it is well known that a lot of free stuff is actually infected. Although these people can not gain anything from you financially they seem to enjoy showing how clever they are by screwing up peoples phones or computers.
If using SEUS have you also done a master reset on the phone to make sure it is completely clean. Those are the only things i can think of but re flashing really should of fixed a software problem which only leaves the hardware to be at fault sorry for you troubles and i hope you find a solution.

@Dogmann
All of the Games and apps were free. The games were no biggie (JC Does TX, QuadraPOP, Treasure Towers) all from Sony Ericsson. The apps were from different vendors (Gmail, Opera Mini, News Reader, Google Maps and a few simple freebies like a Spanish-English dictionary and some conversion software) but I've had them for months. The only new things I downloaded and installed were a few themes I got from mobile9.com.
The real issue is that now my Internet shortcut doesn't work and there have got to be some issues I don't know of yet because the download complete sound doesn't play anymore. I just don't know what could have caused it. I've also been getting strange reports (just yesterday) from friends about calls to me connecting to different people (really freakin' weird).
I ran SEUS and it DID update the firmware to R4EA031 but it didn't fix anything. I guess the only fix is DaVinci now? Unfortunately, DaVinci doesn't have R4EA031 for America_1.

Well I guess I am going to try Wotan Server this time. They have the correct firmware at least. Now I just have to wait for them to send me the login credit (which I've heard takes a few days).
