I hear it should be overnight say 12 hours or more but the manual says 2.5 hours although this is just for a general charge. What say you fellow estaolites?
Thanks in advance

Li-Ion do not suffer the memory effect, so charge it until it says full and thats it! Generally it's a good idea to let them to completely deplete of all charge once in a while but you don't need to charge it over the 2.5 hrs the manual suggests.
Most phone shops will tell you to charge for 14 odd hours which was correct for the older types but is not the case now.

same as said above really - even with new phones just shipped in or just released.
phone shops only tell you to charge for 14 hrs + as thats how long it takes for a new phone connection to go through.
cant overcharge or undercharge batteries these days - in my opinion just good or faulty batteries really methinks
thing is really, if you use your phone alot then dont expect your battery life to be like others......by this i mean if you watch movies all day on uiq phones such as w950 and p990 then expect the battery to go down - as opposed to another esatolite who would listen to just music all day their battery would last longer.
and if you have a partner who could talk from dusk till dawn then......only the battery gods can help them

i told my brother to use his new w850 until completely dead, then charge overnight. Battery is now not the greatest, the same happened to my w900i....
Although with my k800 i drained the battery, the did overnight, batter was fine, when i get my p990 i think ill just leave it overnight to be safe without using it.

Marlonski's got it 100 percent correct. I just hate it when phone shops sales people tell customers to charge for 12,14 or 16 hours. They should be taken on a course on batteries. This is 2006 not 1996!

Guys, I think you're all misunderstood about the battey. it's not about Li ion or NiMH battery. It's about activating the cell, optimized the performance and maximised their storage capabilities, you won't feel much diffferent wheter u charge it 2 or 8 hours it only maximized it not more than 10-20% for long term usage, i think better take the shop advice on this even they can't explain to you why .... lol...
Trust me on this, i've been working on phone accessories more than five year and now being a purchasing agent for some branded accessories suppliers...
btw you can do a little test, while u buy a new phone and fully charge it for the first time, it will loose 1 bar in short time of usage but after some charge and use you will gain longer usage for the first bar... this is what it meant...
Hope will help
