Hi

I have a K800i upgraded with davinci a couple of months ago with the latest firmware (R1ED001) and sice yesterday this is happening:

When accessing the phonebook, searching even scrolling up/down or pressing the initial key of the entry, the phone whitescreen resets when reaching some entry.

Yesterday the problem occurred when reaching the 'T' entries. The whitescreen reset the phone without needing to switch it off and on. Himself gets alive.

I tried to remove the battery trying a more 'hard' reset, but nothing.

Then, I changed the phone book sort preferences to 'by second name' and the crash point changed.

I revert the setting to 'by name' and inserted some entry. And the crash point changed again!. Now crases when reaching the 'P' entry.

Now I found duplicate entries too! It seems to be randomly duplicated.

Another weird thing, so weird, is that some java apps I have in the memory stick got duplicated and quadruplicated !!

I never removed the card nor didn't any file operation in this directory.

What could I do? Reflash with a master reset? Wait for the next upgrade? Downgrade to K750? :frown:

maybe some of the K800 owner around would test their phone as how you did and we'll see the result from them.. i would say that it's a faulty K800?

just tried to duplicate hte failure on mine and .... all worked perfectly.
I'd suggest a master reset and/or reflash. If that fails it's back to SE

No, my K800i R1ED001 SEUS-updated doesn't behave like what you said. Bad DaVinci flash?

Well, the phone was working seamesly since the flash (two months ago)

The only thing that could caused that corruption is a bad bluetooth or USB file mess or something similar. This is only a guess, since I didn't notified any malfunction after connect the phone to the computer.

Oh, the cuadriplicated java games can't be erased. Trying to do it, a error message appears...

More: When triying to backup with MyPhoneExplorer, the phonebook transfer halts when reaching (approx.) the position where the white screen appears when scrolling in the phone...

The transfer halts and the communication remains up in waiting state, so the only way to restore the phone is reseting (manually) it.
