I have a quick question. I have two Sims cards (one is Contract and the other PAYG on separate networks) and I use both numbers regularly. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a Duel Sim adapter that both fits in the P990 but also allows me to swap between numbers easily. I know there are loads on eBay, but I am not sure which will fit as they seem to be designed with the Nokia phones in mind. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Thanks, but thats the thing, I was wondering if anyone can recommend one that they have actually tried themselves or knows that is compatible. Also that type of duel sim requires you to snip the sim card in half, which is not really something I am prepared to do unless I have to!

The dual sim adaptor on that link will not work on 3G. I'm not really sure what it is. Do you have to cut the sim in order to fit two in the same adaptor?

Sim cards were the size of credit cards a few years back, they often stiill come in that format & we break them out, these duel sims just cut a bit more off them so they fit in a duel holder, the only bit of the sim card that is any use is the small contact area, so cutting them down is no big deal, i have used that "cut down sim" type adaptor for years, in all P series phones including my P990 they work perfectly, on the P990 you get a new menu which you use to switch numbers (the phone has to restart), if both sims are the same network, you can tap on the signal icon & a window with the numberr your on will show, i have never regretted cutting down sims, just make sure you do it very accurately.
If for the unlikely event that you go back to just one sim, they include a small adaptor to make the cut down sim usable in a phone on its own.

i couldnt live without my twin sim, it saves me loads on bills.

I have the reverse problem. My car has a sim for the built in phone. If I go on a long journey, I take the sim out of my phone, and put it in the car. It's far from convenient, especially with the slow start-up times of the P series, and even harder to do with the P990. O2 won't give me a duplicate sim, and even if they did, I suppose I'd still have to turn off my phone before I start the car, or I'd have two sims working at the same time on the same account. I'm thinking of getting a PAYG for the car, and diverting my calls to it when I'm driving.

Any ideas?

Yea you can get sim cloners, i seem to remember someone on here uses one, do a search. i just did but only got posts where people are putting many numbers on one simcard, thats not what u want is it, i definately read a post where a guy has a "clone" of his simcard to use for what u want.
