I've been waiting on Three to release details on their X-Series tariff and, just today I think, they have finally done so.
[Link]
I am considering giving it a go as it doesn't seem sure a bad deal. However, one of the main things that is drawing me to it is the prospect of streaming my own music - stored online - through the phone so I can listen to it whilst on the move. Streaming video would also be nice (hello Youtube!), but not essential)
Does anyone 'in the know' know whether or not this would be doable with this deal, and if so, whether I need to opt for the Gold version of the service (with 'Orb' and 'Sling') or whether I'd be able to do it without them.
Thanks.
Your opinions on X-Series would also be very welcome.

@Barguast
If you are definitely going to buy and use the Slingbox which means an extra £10pm for X-Series Gold,and also use all those Skype and Messenger minutes it is a good deal. If on the other hand you want it mainly for e-mail and web browsing T-Mobiles tariffs can not be beaten IMO.

It doesn't make it clear on the website, but is their content still 'walled', or can you now with X-series access any website you want, including Esato, and check any email account you want, for example my Tesco account (Which I can using my O2 2G contract)?
Not sure you could stream music tracks from your pc, I think what it would mean is you could easily copy them from your PC to your phone and play them on it that way. You'd need the gold price plan though.

No, I meant uploading the music online (I have quite a bit of web space) and streaming it from there. This shouldn't require any additional hardware as far as I am aware..?
I'm still looking into what the deal entails, but so far it is looking quite promising. I just hope there aren't any hidden restrictions, apart from the ones I've found already. (e.g. Unlimited, as always, does not mean Unlimited - I think there is a 1GB download limit per month, which should be plenty anyway)

£5 for the silver tariff, which is 'net access, msn etc., and a tenner for the gold package, which includes this slingbox or the other thingy in it.
This is of course on top of whatever your usual line rental is
