It's very clever. Especially how it can sample externally using its mic. I would like to know too.

Maybe it tracks the various frequencies of the trebles and basses, and then it matches them up to a library of songs to see which one fits.

I imagine it works like the Shazam system

http://www.shazam.com/music/p[....]ate/what_is_tagging/music.html

How does it work?A bit of mystery always seems to make things even more appealing...

But for the technology fans, here's a the science bit:

Back in 2001 our Chief Scientific Officer, Avery Wang, created an algorithm which is capable of recognising patterns in music that are unique to every song. So, when you call Shazam, we map the 20-second clip that you play to your phone to over 3.5 million songs in our database to find an exact match using the algorithm.

Simple.

It's not working in my W850. Is it country restricted? I live in Jordan in the middle east.

Which phones include the service? My w950i does, and if a phone does not have it built in can you install it or access it any other way? I use it regulary and would miss it if i got a k800.

If you dont have it I don't see the point in trying to get it.
As SCORPIONKING said, it's just the same as Shazam . Just dial 2580. In England it's free to call on Vodafone and you're charged 50p if it can find a match.

Well, Shazam, or Shazam on Mobile really, does not seem to work in Sweden, does it?

At least not according to the information found here (International).

If it does, what is the number to dial if you are on contract with Telia Mobile?
