I'm thinking about buying one of these phones. Know that the sim'll probably be glued in, but if i ever want to change it i'll just figure a way of getting it out
My reason for buying would be that three have a deal for 3000 free texts over 6 months when you buy zte f866 / moto c975. i know you can get the free windows live messenger deal with the moto, but would rather a slightly smaller phone tbh. I was going to get it from argos, as it's £29.99 with £30 credit at the moment, just wondering whether the deal wouldn't be valid though as it wasn't going to be bought from three's website.
the info. for the offer is at:
http://www.three.co.uk/person[....]you_go_/threepay_to_wepay2.omp
thinking about just taking the risk, as i could just go back to vodafone after 60 days if it doesn't work out...as the 30quid only lasts 60 days
my other reason for switching to three is that they're 3g network is available at school / home, but vodafone's isn't...there's a weak t-mobile 3g signal here though, but 3's is strong.
Just sent three an email about it, and think they might email back fairly quickly as their call centre is in china...i think...or somewhere around those parts, so they're probably not covered by some of the rules and such people in the UK would be covered by about working on sundays etc..
also, anyone with this phone already - please give me a short review? not found any real reviews about it really...wouldn't mind knowing what the keypads like to text etc..
thanks in advance,

ok, cheers dude - it an alright phone otherwise though? heard that it can be a bit annoying having to turn predictive text off every time you write a text, but I can live with that I suppose...but have been getting used to the likes of a treo 650 with it's full qwerty thumb-board recently

- just need something a tad cheaper to take places with me...not too happy about carrying it around at school basically...

Went out and bought one of these phones on saturday - pure reason as I wanted the free texts (3000 over 6 months). Bought from argos, although I doubted at first that I'd get this deal the phone had a card-sleave around it advertising the fact that it had 3000 texts over 6 months.
Overall, I deem this to be a bleedin' excellent deal! Phone ain't too bad, just the cameras kinda crap and the lack of bluetooth / infra-red is annoying. Only other gripe is the sound the buttons make when you use them - means there's gonna be no texting under the table @ school for me!
Three's service since saturday (haven't had to call them....luckily!) has been excellent. The registration thing came through today (text), and the fact I have 3G at home now rocks

also I can watch their free 'Today on 3 live' channel

heh....
Anyway...if you have a rubbish old phone, or just want something to use for loads of texts -->
GO BUY ONE NOW!

EDIT:
oh yeh...and I was warned by the person in the shop that it would have a 'fixed simcard'...and boy she was wrong

- I opened the box, saw there was a piece of paper saying that the phone had the simcard in already and there would be an empty sim-sleave or something, and then I found the phone in there, and smiled

no sim in it

and it was clean as clean could be...found the simcard sleave...and guess what! There was a nice '3' sim in there

anyway...3 rocks

i purchased a zte f866 on friday in superdrug. cost me hardly anything because of the offer they have on. i also picked up the motorola c975, simply because i didn't know which phone would be better and they are virtually giving the phones away.
although the c975 seems a little quicker when surfing the net or using the planet 3 sites this phone is more impressive. so i agree with awave, go and buy one.
now i've been on orange for years and rely on a good reception for work related texts. i only use a nokia 1100! once i'm convinced the coverage is good on 3 then i may change to 3. with the text offers i wouldn't be so tight in replying to those annoying short texts you get from friends. orange charge 12p a text which is daylight robbery.
in the meantime i can carry both handsets around with me.
the 3g capabilities of this phone make it a good investment if you do not have a 3g phone. it is much quicker that regular wap and watching tv on your mobile, is still an amazing experience to me. ok i'm not a young trendy dude like awave, but at 38 years old i still enjoy technology.
this handset makes me wonder why 3 get such a hard time. maybe like skoda they have a bad reputation that is now unwarranted.
as i rarely make mobile calls, but need to be contactable and have internet access when i'm out and send the occasional text this phone is perfect.
say need internet access at most once or twice a week at £1.00 a day, a few texts a week and a few calls and i'm happy to spend £10 a month, especially as that will entitle you to hundreds, maybe thousands of free texts!
i still can't believe how good this phone is for the money. 3 must rely of making money back on the handsets by users being enticed by the additional services people buy on planet 3. as long as i don't go mad on those then i think that this could be a very cheap mobile to purchase and run.
only thing missing is a few games, but then i can live with that.
