I've set up wifi with my home Netgear router and after playing around with it, it seems to work fine. I'm with o2 and noted in order to send emails from my pop 3 account i had to change the smtp setting to my ISP e.g smtp.talktalk.net this is fine and allows me to send emails, the problem i have is when reverting to gprs i 'm unable to send emails unless i change the setting to smtp.o2.co.uk, surely this cant be right?
Any help would be appreciated..

yesm thats standard these days. isp and phone companies etc will only let you use their SMTP servers to send mail if you are actually connected to their service. This is to avoid people using their servers to send spam.
Some providers allow you to use their SMTP server if you use the authentication method, i.e. you specify your username and password like you do when accessing your mail via the pop3 server

I thought that for every POP3 account one have to setup the incoming and outgoing server and perhaps choose smtp authentication. Once it's done it doesn't matter if receiving or sending emails through wifi or gprs, the email accounts remain the same. It's like that in my case but maybe in other cases is different.
