To be quite frank the security on this phone is crap! Don’t get me wrong I love all the other aspects of the phone, but security is big nowadays, and whereas other phones are going forward, Sony Erickson is going backwards.
As you all know, we do tend to get certain funny and rude texts and pictures from friends etc, etc. And whereas you can lock this sought of thing on other phones, the k800i doesn’t give you the option. Now I have to worry were I leave my phone, I went round to my friends house and one of his kids picked up my phone that I had left on the table, thank god I was there to stop him going threw it! I never had this problem with other phones, and I’m wondering why Sony Erickson has taken a step back!?

You can download a java app that is called phone locker. It's not that secure. But it helps you to hide stuff from the kids and maybe your girl.

I would not call it a step back but more of an omition. I have no use for it myself but i can see that it would be useful.

How does this java download work? Oh and can I ask, is there a way to stop messages being saved in your sent messages box?

Yip, not a step back, but rather a step not yet taken...

It’s defiantly a step back if you ask me! Why would all the new phones have top security and the k800i doesn’t? Anyone can just pick up your phone and see all your info, your phone numbers, your messages, your pictures etc, etc. I think they need to sort this out ASAP!!
