My friend told me that he has locked his sim card and now can't get into the phone or what not. I have not talked to him much about it but I was wondering if there is a default code or anything like that. Any help would be great.

do not try to discover the code himself. he might lock the sim forever. tell him to take it to its provider's

Maybe he has a lock code on the phone. Tell him to try 0000 as that is the standard code.

Ok here is the strange part, he said when he got the phone, it told him for sercurity reasons he should change the code, so he switched it from the default 0000 to ????? and that is the only time he put it in and never thought he would have to worry about it so he never wrote it down. Now i thouht there would be a code that does not change but he tells me that you can change it. so he and i are lost, he is using another phone but has to send in the other one with the sim i guess and have it fixed or what ever they do. But thanks for all the comments, if anyone has anymore help please do so, he has not sent the phone in yet so maybe there is still hope.

Thats a sony ericsson for you. Your boys best bet is to take it to a SE retailer.

If you change the code und you cannot remember it, you are hosed. You need to take it to a provider to have it fixed.

First off i would like to thank all of you on your replys. He took it to the provider and they could not fix it, i guess he has to send it back to SonyEricson. they sent an email and said that the sim card may be destroyed, and most likely all of the info on the card will be lost. His provider is Cingular, when he asked if he could get a loaner phone while he waits the 14-21 business days for his phone to be fixed, they told him "we don't do that". LOL that is really nice if you ask me what a wonderful provider. So he might be without a phone for the next few weeks.
