> GSM/GPRS coverage question
Bookmark topic
I live in Central Pennsylvania and I'd like to know how good the GSM/GPRS service is in the area. I'm an AT&T Wireless Rep and I'm thinking of migrating my employee plan to GSM. Does anyone have any info on this or anywhere I can get more info?

I was in the area visiting last week, and I have to say their coverage in that area is way better than in the D.C. area.

As an AT&T WS rep, do you get an awesome calling plan exclusive to employees?

Uh yeah... the GSM employee plan includes unlimited minutes of voice and unlimited MBs of data for free.

DAMMMMMN!!!! i to am a ATTWS rep in NC, our dealer line is only 1200 voice min and 2MB transfer for $10 bucks! PA has a better dealer plan. as far as GSM?GPRS coverage in PA, look on attws.com/mmode i believe. the goverage there is better than it is here! also, i found out yeasterday from a buddy of mine that is an engenieer for Cingular that ATT 3g and Cingular GSM will be sharing networks within a month or so down here! he also told me that i will be able to have my T68i unlocked by Cingular then as ATT tells me to go F**k myself on that issue. that will expand ATTWS's 3g coveraeg nation wide immensly, HUGE!!! i cant wait!

Regarding ATT GSM in Central PA..... I live in Pittsburgh and drove up to State College last weekend; I was actually suprised that my T68i was on the network the entire time except for about 2 minutes just as I was getting off of route 220. The coverage was very good around the Penn State campus, but the GPRS did not work in Beaver Stadium (I was trying to get stats from ESPN.com). Like I said before, I didn't expect to have any coverage on the way up, because the coverage maps I looked at from ATT didn't really specify whether they had coverage around Johnstown and Altoona. I was really pleased with ATT's service.

I'm having no problems so far in Lebanon, Harrisburg, Lancaster, or York. Those are the areas I've tested so far. So far so good. (this is with AT&T Wireless by the way)

in case anyone cares, i live in perry county, and the coverage is quite good there too. now I don't live out in the woods or anything, but right along 11&15. i have noticed some bad spots in New Cumberland, though.
