When I press camera buton half of a step, it focuses and when i continue presing it harder(it should take a picuure), it just shows simbols, like I relased it. The only way i could take a picture is to instantly press button hard.

Why cant I first focus and than take picture (any more)?

The problem is the camera ribbon, in my opinion. If your phone is older and you have treated the button badly, or simply take a HUGE number of pictures with it, it is not working fine anymore. The ribbon cable is what it maked the button to have 2 levels of pressing. So when it's not connected well or is damaged, the camera hardly takes the pictures or only auto focuses. So check the state of the ribbon cable. If it is damaged you can get yourself another from the internet stores for very low price.

Sounds to me more like a problem with the actual camera button on the keypad PCB. I've had a faulty one like that too, a new keypad PCB sorted the problem - it could also be a loose connection as previously stated, could just need pushing back on. Try that before shelling out on a new pcb!

my old 810 did this once, turned out to be the keypad flex connection AND
the camera button !!!
The flex had worked loose (under the keypad stand, bottom right) and the
small projection on the inside back edge of the bottom was worn/damaged
so you couldn't press far enough to get the picture taken, just focused.

Good old cnn.cn to the rescue again

Thanks MeowMeow!

had the exact same problem, did what you said and it worked! didnt have to open the phone at all!
i.e.
- the camera button doesnt seem to activate even though i press it hard
- so i just pressed the shortcuts key (which does nothing when you're in photo/video mode)
- then i press the camera button again and this time it works..

i guess the shortcuts button must have debounced the camera button.. whether it's a firmware bug and/or hardware bug i duno..

love my SE 810i
