> Sony Ericsson Z520i - screen problem

Hi,
I have a friend with a z520i, on vodafone (although I know this makes no difference). I think I have diagnosed the problem and I'm also pretty sure she's going to have to take it into a vodafone store / send it away to a SE centre, but just to make sure.
The problem is, when you open the display (open the clamshell) the screen is basically 'scrolling' across the screen right -> left and slightly bottom -> top at the same time. I was thinking about videoing it for a couple of seconds, but didn't have enough time
Another thing that happens, is when you open the screen fast (she showed me this btw, I haven't touched the thing!) the screen stays blank (white!).
I diagnosed this as a screen cable breakage, but could just be pushed back in or something. Not sure really. I think she's changed it from the baby-blue clipons to the pink ones not very long ago though, not sure whether it could have got damaged in this change-over as I have never owned a clamshell to date.
Any help would be VERY much appreciated, by me and her

If you get a new screen cable (try searching the internet) and you know how to open the phone and replace it you shouldn't take the phone to service centre because in that case you will have to wait long. So if you are sure and if you can get the needed parts you can replace it, but only if you located the problem correctly, if the problem really is the screen cable. So as you described the prblem I have the same opinion as you. The screen cable can make problems like that due to weak contact or not having good contact between the screen and the phone's mainboard.

hmm...I live in the uk, i may be able to get her to get one ordered (we're school age
) so yeh...it's gonna be hard to get it fixed easily.
thanks, it's not actually my phone and i'm not too sure how much she'll trust me to open it up but i'll have a better look at it tomorrow to make sure it isn't just a push of the screen back into the main body or something...it's damn annoying whatever it is...but if it's in warranty and can be taken to vodafone shop in town, should they not just do it straight away?
