I note when using wifi the gprs green icon flashes as though you are using gprs. the WLAN icon is shown but no flashing, so i find it somtimes confusing which are you actually using gprs or wifi, the connections manager does tell me which is being used as the green icon flashes next to the account being used. The WLAN icon shows up 'bold' when connected though sometimes it's the gprs that is being used?

Is there a way (as with the P910) you can select the connection type when opening the browser? It seems it automatically finds the prefered connection and if that is unavailable it will find and connect to gprs which in theory is ok, but you dont want to be using gprs if you think you are using wifi?.

Agree with you. I heavily use wifi, internet and download so it would be disaster to find out that I actually used gprs. I didn't want to bother with 'show connection dialog' so I put my wifi connection on the first place and if in doubt that wifi con. is broken (light blue con. icon) I check the connection log during surfing or downloading.

In control panel, under internet connections, use the options menu and set the preferred mode to CS only. This way the GPRS is deactivated in case you do no use it. Once you need a connection to Internet, the phone will try to find an available connection in the order you specified. When it comes to GPRS, then and only then you will see that the Blue triangle over the signal bars comes on. This is now your indication the phone uses GPRS. If this is not showing up, then you are connected via WI-FI, or BT.

Koto, yes that is the way, scroitoru's instructions will still allow you to recieve & send MMS ETC but GPRS triangle will only come on on demand, the blue cirle is not a GPRS icon, it really an Internet connection icon, white GPRS triangle means no spending, blue triangle means spending. LOL

Once u have set it up like that u can be more comfortable using full screen Satnav where u cant allways see the icons.
