I just picked up a new W950i today on O2 and have been trying to configure it to pick up and send from my blueyonder e-mail account.

I have replicated all the settings for the same account that I have set up in Outlook but can't get it to work. Any time I try to send or recieve it gives the message:

"The download failed because the account has errors in its server settings."

I've tried changing the connection it is using to send or recieve but I'm not having any luck. I'm at a bit of a loss as to why this isn't working so any help would be appreciated.

I managed to figure out what the problem was. Quite simple really.

Firstly, even though pop.blueyonder.co.uk works fine in Outlook, it seems it has to be pop3.blueyonder.co.uk on the phone. For outgoing messages you need to use the server smtp.o2.co.uk has to be used.

After fixing those things I can now send and recieve e-mail! Hopefully this might help anyone else with similar problems.

I kinda have the same problem with my Sony Ericsson P1i when fetching my Gmail, the exact same error message appears. This only happens when I try to connect thru GPRS/3G, but there seems to be no problem when I connect thru WLAN. I didn't change any settings in my phone's email set up, it only depends on the connection type. I wana make it work with GPRS/3G connection since WLAN is not available all the time. You're lucky that you made it work with your W950i. Any suggestions? Thanks!
