I own all the above and am relatively happy with them all (now that my Voda P990 has been updated via SEUS - yippee!!). However, I've noticed that my DS970 bluetooth earphones can only remember one phone or the other, not both. By this, I meant that if I pair the earphones with the M600 and continue to use it with the M600 then everything is fine. However, if I decided to use my P990, even though it had previously been paired with the DS970, it will not connect. I have to re-pair the 2 devices and then it all works until I try to use my M600 again when I have to re-pair them once again. I DO NOT try to connect to both phones at the same time. Has anyone else come across this? Is there a way around this inconvenience?

That's the way the HBH-DS970 was designed. It can only pair with *ONE* full duplex (meaning you can talk and listen) device at a time. You can pair with multiple single duplex (listen only) devices. I thought that really sucked myself which is the main reason I sold mine. The way around it is to get a Nokia HS-12W instead. I like the earbuds on the Nokia better anyway, they're more comfortable than the type that SE has been using lately. Also, the Nokia has a built in FM radio which is a huge plus.

Thanks alot for the quick response. I don't remember reading this limitation in the documentation. I love the sound of the Sony but will check out the Nokias. Thanks again.

little bit of topic, but isn't that same for all SE documentation? forgetting to mention their products shortcomings?!? Like the bugs in the P990i? Or memory shortages? or memory leakages?!

Sorry,

Not to go further off-topic, but how is the peak volume on the Nokia HS-12W compared to the HBH-DS970 headset? I find the HBH-DS970 is not loud enough with the P990 or M600.

Thanks in advance

@RxistKJ
I think the volume has to do with the handset and not the earphones. Using the DS970, music's definitely louder on my K610 than my P990.

@Jabe

I don't know for sure if the Nokia can pair with multiple devices in full duplex mode but, I assume it can since it doesn't have this concept of single point and multi-point mode like the SE model. With the SE unit, you can only have one full duplex device paired in single point mode. In multi-point mode, you can pair multiple devices in half-duplex mode. Here's what the FAQ on Nokia's website says:

How many connections can the Nokia HS-12W Wireless Stereo Headset have?
There can be up to eight different users for one Nokia HS-12W Wireless Stereo Headset, with only one user having an active connection at a time.

Just the fact that it says 8 different "users" indicates to me that means multiple phones i.e. full duplex devices.

but what does this mean, excactly?
for example if I have 2 phones, both with BT. can both be connected at the same time and I can pick up a call from either of them but only one at the time? or does that mean that I can pair both, but that decide which of the two should be connected and if I get a call to another one, I'll have to answer it in a traditional way.

I'm desperately looking for a stereo BT headset which would work with 2 phones at the same time (the first scenario), but so far failed to find it.

EDIT: I HAVE FOUND IT!!! Just have to wait for it to be released

Does anyone else have the 'distance' problem I have?? It seems like I can't be more than 10 ft away from my phone?? And sometimes on video playback it does cut off a bit...
