> P990 Activesync Push Issue
Bookmark topic
I have a P990i and setup the ActiveSync on it.
It works great for every feature but the "Enable Push" feature. Whenever I check that feature (enable it in the settings). It will sync one time, then disable itself.
I have Exchange 2003 SP2 running, with no errors or anything.
The Enable Push feature just will not stay enabled. So I have to always manually push.
Anyone experience this issue? Is it a problem with my Exchange server settings???

Activesync is far from perfect. Do you use SSL? You also need to have the push element enable on your server as well. In a worst case you can set an interval for your phone to sync automatically.

I do have SSL. I have push enabled on the server.I'm suprised this works on anyones phone (the push feature).
My exchange server setup is so simple, and exactly fits the requirements and setup for Push e-mail....
The scheduled Sync does work, but only for about an hour... because the P990 is so bad at handling memory, it will just close the Activesync application after a while, so it can no longer do a scheduled sync.

I know from reading up on another push email service for the p990 (Seven Always On) they state that if the phone is in a bad reception area it will turn the push email function off and let it sync at every 15 minutes or so.
You also might want to give it a try and see if its more stable on the p990.
You can download the sis file here

Sorry, quick question:
Does Seven's Always On push email solution require use of their server, in addition to an Exchange Server, like Blackberry?
Thanks and pardon my ignorance.

I believe Activesync functions in a similar fashion with regard to poor signal. It will disable the push, and revert to the sync interval you have set on the phone.
@skruttet What version of Activesync are you presently using? Nice to hear someone is using it without too many problems.
