The xbox 360 is to have its cpu upgraded next year from 90nm to 65nm

I'm thinking of getting a 360 very soon, possibly before new year. Do I wait for this upgrade or just get one anyway???

How predictable, i wondered how long it would take for the PS3 to be mentioned.........

@procterdc, regarding whether you should wait or not i would just get one, i for one have never had a problem with my 360 overheating

Thanks scott, i've seen intercoolers for add on's so i may get one of those too. As for getting a ps3...

NO THANKYOU

Who wants to pay £550 min for something the 360 can do. Go to gametrailers.com and check out the comparison reviews, if i'm honest the xbox looks better

Intercoolers are a con... look for reviews on them most of them are just noise fans that make very little dofference!! Just make sure ya 360's vents are unrestricted...

I will wait for the when the ps3 can run backups then from that point it will be the one to go for. The HDMI for me is the iceing on the cake, and also the fact that hopefully the 1080i will be sorted soon.

But for gaming I can honestly say both machines run as good as each other, there really is no one better than the other. The thing that wil take the cup is when one can act as a media hub and play xvid and divx natively no hacks.

Right now the x360 seems to be doing well with Tversity doing the job but requiring alot of cpu.

The only real difference will be the 360 running cooler, which is a breath of fresh air. And the inevitable 360 price drop.
