> k730i - Thick White Vertical Lines
Bookmark topic
At the end of September we bought my wife a Red k730i from Carphone Warehouse. At the end of last week she phoned me from the Trafford Centre and put her phone away in the special pouch in her handbag.
The following morning she took it from said pouch to discover running down the screen where thick white lines, we turned it off, took the battery out, removed the sim left it for a few mins and booted it back up. They were still there.
We took it too the Carphone Warehouse store as told via their helpdesk and the woman behind the counter, tried ever excuse from my wife had sat on it, you have hit it hard on the screen, you have dropped it. None of these had happen, then the woman turned around and said that we can fix it but it will cost you £40.
My wife left and this morning I phoned carphone warehouse as this cost us £140 just over two months ago.
After speaking with the customer support and being on hold for 3 minutes (not bad) they guy told me to take it to another Carphone Warehouse and tell them to send it under Manufactures Warrenty. He then added the Manufactures Warrenty doesn't cover the LCD screen so the could charge.
This all sounds extremely odd, can any one explain
What the white lines are?
Is this a common fault with said phone?
Can anyone give me anything to say to get this phone fixed at the Carphone Warehouse for free as I don't fancy forking out £40 so close to Christmas?
Thanks

The warrenty will cover the lcd if it is faulty. Call the se uk service number from the se website and send it to them direct for warrenty repair.
