I have an NSLU2 with a 200Gb hard disk with firefly installed (the roku soundbridge compatible music server) - so it streams my music via wifi to my laptop and roku
I was wondering if the P990i was capable of
a) some utility to play music from a firefly server
or
b)map a network drive from the P990i to my music share to play my music collection over wifi?

If you can manage to somehow set up a real-media streaming server you should be able to stream real-audio on the p990. I have streamed audio and video with my p990 from some swedish radio and tv-sites.. first it only worked over 3g but since I set my wifi-router to have the phone as DMZ it works wia wifi as well. It should work from a computer as well if you find any program that can work as a streaming-server.
Don't know how it will work with your network-drive though...
