S700i / S710a Housing Replacement Tutorial

I found this really smart S700i full housing replacement tutorial on globalmob. Couldn't find one here when I needed one.

Pics were taken with my K750 in low light.

The paint really attracts fingerprints but is very shiny. Also got a few marks on the screen so it will have to come apart again and given a good clean.

@Rookwise

The tutorial I posted doesn't even mention the keylock spring, which was the worst type of hell to get back in place.

I put a black one on mine but it hasn't fitted as tight together as I wanted. Also, how difficult are those little screws to put back, the ones under the rub plates? Bloody nightmare!

I seen a nice light-gold coloured housing, I might go for that. I the new housings have to have the logo on them too.

The keylock spring and also the small spring for the lens cover were a pain to refit

and those small screws that hold the plates on for the swivel section are fixed in with Locktight. Stripped the head on 2 of them the first time I attempted a housing swap.

Currently looking at what to do with my K800. I'm thinking of platinum but not sure yet

Yeah, the keylock spring. Would you beliieve it but that tiny spring flew off into nowhere and I spend half an hour looking for it then give up. Then when I wasn't looking for it found it.

What do you reckon to this?

Looks quite accurate and a nice colour
On a genuine housing. The led lens is already attached and the pegs are melted around the lens to hold it in place.
Still. A bit of brush on superglue holds it in place very well

Btw. There's loads of W900 housing currently on Ebay. Just did a search on there

Thanks for searching but you can never find the keypad or the keylock buttons, mem-card cover and charge connection cover etc. Its just the basic shell. I cant even find a white keypad although i have found a black one.

A black W900i with white keypad wouldn't look right to me.

@Residentevil

I don't understand why they are selling housings with no keypads etc. The eejits.

I think I am gonna stay with my white W900i anyway, just need a new white keypad. I prefer it in white I have decided.
