> z610i easily unlocked?

Hi im after a pink z610i for my g/f's xmas but noticed they are exclusive on 3 network, so are they easily unlocked as i have a w850i and hear this is not so eay to unlock yet? Thanks for any replies....

afaik z610 can be unlocked only with the op codes, cos it has db2020 system just like k610 or k800 for example

just to re-phrase what boba's said:- you'll have to call up 3 and pay for the code. They can charge absolutely over-the-top rates for unlocking your phone... I'd try and get the phone sim-free instead if I were you, or signing up for one of their contracts...or simply just switching to their pay-as-you-go service as it's about the same as everyone else's and the stuff on their portal is kinda better imo than vodafone's

I've done the same (purchased the pink z610i on 3 - intending to get it unlocked) after phoning 3 and being quoted £15.
However, having recieved the phone today I called 3 and am now being told they wont do it!!!
Obviously not very happy, any ideas?

Now I just need to unock it, but that`s where the problem starts.
I`ve visited all the ususal independent mobile repairs shop, but none of them would actually unlock for me, all accordingly saying, that Z610 is very dificult, nearly impossible to unlock, and there is no software to do it anyway.
I dont know about 3 giving out unlocking codes themselfs, but I will try it, and them let you guys know.

What do you mean by "Carrier"? Is it some kind of a cable?
I have seen some cables for unlocking on Ebay, and I have been flirting with an idea to buy them, and unlock all my future phones, and those of my friends, myself...just to piss the networks off
What exactly is actually needed to sucesfully unlock a mobile phone in these days?

Also do you know if there is a way to get mp3 song titles scrolling across the OLED screen at all times rather than disappearing after about 30 secs and not coming back until i open and shut the phone again...
