O2 is dealing with an incoming call problem. Numbers beginning with 07872 can not receive incoming calls from other mobile networks and landlines. Other O2 numbers can call the 07872 prefix.
Engineers are working on the problem but have not confirmed a timescale to fix the fault. It hopes the problem will be fixed over the weekend. The network said it is trying to restrict the allocation of these numbers

O2 numbers beginning with 07872 can now accept incoming calls from Talk Talk customers but will have to wait till Wednesday to receive calls from Vodafone number.
An O2 spokewoman said: 'There was a problem with incoming calls to the new 07872 numbers from two network providers. One has now rectified the fault and the other should do so by Wednesday morning. In the mean time, we will not be releasing anymore Sims with this number until the situation has been fully rectified
