> P990 Opera Hidden Shortcuts Strange Occurrence!

Hi all,
I just had the strangest thing happen to me a few minutes ago on my P990. I will try to describe in detail what happened so you can see if it works for you too.
I was using Opera Mini in FC. I went to mini.opera.com to download the latest updated version. I selected to download the program. It came up with a warning that the browser may need to exit to download the program. I said yes. Then it had a MIDlet request dialog, which I selected to allow and continue. It proceeded to close down Opera Mini, but nothing happened after that. So I opened the flip, then pressed the internet hardware button to open regular Opera. It opened quicker than usual. Then I tapped the web menu, and I found something very strange, as is shown in the pictures below. There were numbers next to some of the menu commands. I thought, "Wow, these must be shortcuts!" And they were! I closed the menu, and by using ALT+number keys, I could open new pages, switch to bookmarks, etc. The best thing about this is that I have always wished there were shortcuts like these throughout UIQ 3 and in Opera. It would make everything easier to use during those times when you don't want to use the stylus.
Unfortunately, after closing Opera and reopening, the phantom shortcuts vanished. Not only did the numbers in the menu disappear, but even pressing the shortcut numbers failed to do anything. But luckily, I repeated the whole procedure of downloading Opera Mini, and it happened for me again.
This very strange occurrence prompted two questions in my mind:
1. How can this be happening? Was this once a feature that somehow got covered up? Will it be implemented in the coming firmware with a supposedly updated Opera? Is this one of the reasons some programs take up so much memory, because obviously there must be code somewhere in the phone to make this feature work?
2. Am I just an idiot, and was this feature was there all along in some menu I don't know about and never saw? I have read the manual, and I think I have seen all menus within Opera (because I have searched for a way to turn off the password manager), so I don't imagine there is an option for this.
Has anyone else ever encountered this odd situation? Let me know if you can get this to happen for you, or if you know why it might be happening. Thanks so much.
Edit: I forgot to add the pictures.

Well, Chris, I think I can shed some light here.
I used an M600i for quite some time before getting my P990i. The M600i had all those alt+number shortcuts, but ironically, and sadly I might add, I found the Web app on the P990i was crippled and with no apparent shortcuts.
Your encounter shows that those shortcuts have always been there, probably to be introduced with a minor update. This actually gives me hope, but also makes me worried why SE chose to disable them initially. I already have Opera Mini 3 on my mobile, but when I tried to install again, hoping to somehow invoke Web's shortcuts, nothing happened!
I'll try to uninstall and install from scratch to see what happens.
As for the future, I am hoping the shortcuts show up with the next FW. We'll have to wait and see.

"Enabling keyboard shortcuts in Opera: make sure Web is not running; in flip closed mode, hold down the web key (on the right side of the phone); you will see Web flash up on the screen; now open the flip and Opera will have keyboard shortcuts (1 to open page, 2 for bookmarks, 6 for full screen, etc) until next started"
