Hi all, it's been quite a while since I've been on here. Now I've got my new p990i, I've obviously got some questions.

First one is music listening.

With my p910i I used a 2.5mm to 3.5mm jack, so I could use my standard headphones to listen to music on the phone. It seems that the jack has been dropped completely from the p990i, so I'm gonna have to seek out a new solution.

The standard ear-bud phones don't cut it for me. I'm not a fan of sticking things in my ears, so I'm looking for a new converter to allow me to use my old 3.5mm jack headphones.

So far I've found this adaptor:
http://www.mobileplace.co.uk/[....]k750i_w800i_audio_adapter.html

It would seem to do the trick, but as always, I need to know if it's the best option available? Is there an alternative that would allow me to control the playback (pause, stop, fforward etc...) functions?

Thanks.

I bought one of these from eBay ages ago to use with old W800i - does what I need to to do - arrived in 3 working days for £3.98 in total

3-5mm-Headphone-Adapter-For-W800-W800i-K750i-W900i

Not found anything with built-in controls

That could double as an antena for fm radio on speakerphone too, rather than messing with the cumbersome headphones for ariel use, may need a 3.5 jack in it with seperate lose tails.

I know that the W850i comes with earphones with a 3.5mm headphone adaptor and has the new format SE connector at the other end which does fit the P990i. It has the same play/pause button as the 990i earphones and also acts as the FM radio antennae. I'm sure you could order this direct from SE and use it with your own headphones.

Just get the HPM-70's, they are cheap, has microphone/answer button and you can attach any 3.5mm enabled headphone.

@Willo

I've tried a friends w900 adaptor this morning.

HPM-80
It controlled the play and stop function, but didn't pass any sound through to the headphones (the music came out of the phone).
I don't know if the one you suggest from an w850 would be any different.

@tajrian
I'll check that out, it looks good enough for my needs.
Cheers.

@roskelld
I don't suppose the "Transfer Sound" option is to the internal speaker instead of "wired handsfree"?
My wife has a W850i and her earphones work on my P990i - I'm suprised the W900i ones don't on yours.

You should try the HPM-82. It got volume/track control on it and you can use any 3,5mm headphones you like.

@Willo

Could you give me a hint as to where the Transfer sound option is? I've only just got the handset and I'm still learning the ropes with it.

Cheers.

@roskelld
When you have a track playing and earphones connected, click the downward pointing arrow in media player and from the menu select "Settings".
From the sub-menu, click on "Transfer Sound", It may say "Sound in Speaker" and below that it will say "Transfer to Wired Handsfree". Click this and the speaker will turn off and the earphones will come on.
