Nokia recently presented a couple of short videos at NokiaWorld 2006 that show off its designs for a fantastic new user interface.

ESATO NEWS

The ease with which the user is able to select various items on the screen and push them around with the flick of a finger, sorting and collating as he goes, make you wonder why no-one thought of this type of interface before!

See videos of Nokia's new user interface , It looks so natural and intuitive Better still, it finally takes the mobile phone out of its restrictive wannabe a-PC phase it's been stuck in for the past few years. WATCH HERE

@jack00

It says "This video has been removed by the user. " so there is nothing there.
I like this idea a lot and look forward to seeing it in action of devices some time soon.

Jacks video works for me fine ........

Must say this form of interface does look pretty damn good, i imagine it will ask a lot of the processing power of the phone though to be as nifty as that vid shows

That must be for their smartphones, but to me it looks plain confusing But points for innovation.

I don't know how Nokia can practically incorporate this into their phones. They can't get a stable and fast firmware for their current crop of S60 phones and doing something lie this would be prone to many, many bugs.

Sometimes simple is the way to go. Look at iPod.
