After buying a DS970 bluetooth headset to my P990 I got problmes with auto switch-off of the Backlight on my P990. What happens is that the Backlight doesn't switch-off after 15 secondes like it used to do. It only turns down the brightness approx. 50%. I have been fiddling around with the Backlight settings (Tools => Control Panel => Device => Backlight => Handheld) on the phone trying to re-set the "Auto" configuration, trying to re-start the phone etc but with no luck. I
've also tried to put also the setting for Car Holder to "Auto". If I put the Handheld setting to "ON" and tick the box for "Power Save Enabled", it switches off after 1 minute, but of course that is not good enough.
The only thing that seems to work is to restart the phone WITH the power or the USB cable inserted in the phone. Then the backlight switch-off works until I re-start the phone, and if I restart the phone without any of cables inserted the problem comes back.
I think I have the latest firmware for the phone:
